No matter how hard I tried, I really can’t make overly-used makeup look appealing for the camera! That’s one thing I definitely discovered while writing this blog post!
It’s safe to say we all have our favourite products which we use constantly until we are left with the very last particle. I was sorting through my makeup collection recently when I discovered four products which I looked at and realised, wow, I’ve used these A LOT! It’s definitely a good sign that it’s money not wasted (well, it is in my mum’s eyes). So, these products are probably my most used out of my collection, and 3 out of 4 are high street brands, which are all at least under £6. I thought I’d share these to see if you can find a love for them like I have!
First up is the ever favourite and cult classic Rimmel ‘Stay Matte’ powder in shade 002 Pink Blossom. I’ve got through plenty of these ever since I started wearing make up. I’ve probably owned quite a lot of shades too, especially during my ‘bad fake tan’ phase as a 16 year old. This powder is faultless. It provides a fantastic finish on top of my liquid foundation, and allows my contour to blend nicely into it. It’s so reasonably priced too. I really do believe this is a product that anyone can use, beginner or expert.
Another powder is a more recent discovery, and it’s the L’Oréal Infallible 24H Matte Powder. I did a blog post about this foundation and it’s liquid partner. The two of these work fantastically well together and have been raved about by queen beauty blogger, Zoella. This powder is amazing for coverage, and even comes with a built in mirror and sponge – perfect for touch-ups on the go. I wear shade ‘123 Warm Vanilla’ and it’s fantastic!
The most expensive product out of the four is my Benefit Brow Zings which will probably not surprise my regular readers. I’m always banging on about it, not only online, but to my ‘offline’ friends too! This product really changed my eyebrow game…for the better! During my first year of uni, I became tweezer happy…again…I’ll never learn! I went to benefit one day for a brow mapping lesson and since then my brows have been fuller, thicker and I know how to fill them in a lot better than I used to! The wax and powder duo is priced quite highly, and I no longer use the powder shade, just the wax, but It has some mad staying power and will your up your brow game. Brows on fleek!
The final product I’m including in this post is my MUA palette – one of my first eyeshadow palettes! I remember buying this a few years ago now and being incredibly excited at the vast array of shades and tones. I originally bought this as I heard about it being a Dupe for Urban Decay, and I couldn’t (Still can’t really!!) afford the Naked palettes. For me, this has been a fantastic alternative and the shades are incredibly pigmented, I can’t fault it! The only downside for me is that I’ve broken the lid and have to keep it closed together with a hair bobble…but that’s just my over usage!
I hope you have enjoyed this post! It’s so interesting to look and notice what gets the most use out of my collection. If you can relate to any of this post, feel free to leave a comment below or tweet me @FromAHart xxx
