The £5 brow product you NEED.

If you know me, you’ll know that when it comes to brows, I’m super fussy with who touches them and what products I use on them. I rarely try anything new with them and while it’s great I’ve found products I love, my bank account isn’t as pleased.

I get my eyebrows threaded and tinted every couple months or so at Benito Brow Bar in Debenhams beauty hall, Meadowhall. After the tint has faded, I fill them in with Anastasia Beverley Hill pomade in ‘Medium Brown’ – It’s a gorgeous product with longevity to rule all. However, at £15 a pot, it can start to add up.

I had heard about Freedom’s brow pomade through a friend who works at my local Superdrug. She mentioned that it was meant to be really good, however, I was too stubborn to ever try it. This was until the other day I was making a Tam Beauty order. I noticed the Freedom pomade and thought, why not, for a fiver. I ordered the shade ‘Medium Brown’ – same as my favourite ABH.

So let’s compare. The ABH pomade is 4.0grams whereas the Freedom product is 2.5g – so you get 1.5g less with the cheaper alternative by Freedom. To the eye, the packaging is identical, bar the branding, of course. The texture is also very similar. When I do my brows, I take some of the product out of the pot and warm it up on the back of my hand with my brush. This works the best for me, so I tried the same technique with the Freedom brow product. The texture is exactly the same. Soft, smooth and blend-able!

Now, the most important thing for me, and especially in hot weather is for my eyebrows to not melt. Recently, I’ve turned into a sweater, and I have oily skin on top of this – so for me, I need a product which ain’t going nowhere in a bit of heat.

I’ve been swimming before with my ABH dip brow pomade and it hasn’t budged. I wore the Freedom pomade on a sweaty dog walk, and it was still there afterwards.

Overall, if you were to un-brand both products and make me guess which belonged to which brand – I wouldn’t be able to tell you. I’m super impressed and glad I’ll now be saving £10 on each re-purchase!
